Yad Sarah frequently organizes trips for individuals with physical disabilities to connect with the world around them. In a year filled with fear and loss, these outings offer more than just a breath of fresh air—they provide an opportunity for healing.
Recently, Yad Sarah's wheelchair-accessible van transported a group of individuals to the Tel Aviv Port. This group included a family who lost their daughter during the Nova Festival massacre and another whose son is still being held hostage. For these individuals, the trip offered a meaningful respite from their grief and concern.
"This was a rare chance to set aside the pain, breathe, and experience moments of beauty," shared one participant.
While Yad Sarah's wheelchair-accessible van service is primarily used for medical appointments, rehabilitation, and other essential visits, our volunteer drivers also make non-essential travel possible.
"Moments of joy—like a family trip—are just as important," said Yaron Aviv, National Coordinator of Volunteer Drivers at Yad Sarah.
