When violinist Mordechai Shenwald was struck by a missile in Gaza, all but two of his ribs were shattered. Despite doctors deeming it a fatal injury, Mordechai defied the odds and made a miraculous recovery.
During the long months of rehabilitation at Tel Hashomer Hospital, Yad Sarah provided Mordechai with medical equipment and compassionate care to support his recovery. As he regained strength, he began playing violin again.
"Yad Sarah helped me get back on my feet," said Mordechai. "They were part of my journey back to myself."
What began as a small performance in his hospital room for hospital medical staff turned into worldwide performances. Mordechai recently joined Israeli artist Eden Hason on his U.S. tour and even performed for the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog. Yad Sarah is proud to have supported Mordechai through every stage of his recovery.
