Israel, a man nearly 80 years old, had a lengthy hospitalization due to a declining health condition leaving him dependent on staff and medical equipment. Amid the conflict with Iran, wartime demands forced hospitals across Israel to quickly discharge patients to free up beds for wounded soldiers and civilians.
Israel was suddenly discharged from a Jerusalem hospital in the middle of the night without the necessary medical equipment to support him, leaving his family unprepared to care for him safely at home. Israel’s family immediately contacted Yad Sarah’s Emergency Call Center for help.
Yad Sarah’s Emergency Call Center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Staffed by trained volunteers, the center provides critical assistance during emergencies by offering guidance, emotional support, connections to medical supervision, and ambulance dispatch when needed. Older adults and isolated individuals can also access the center through Yad Sarah’s distress button, ensuring emergency assistance is readily available during critical moments.
Even in the late hours of the night, when Israel’s family member called Yad Sarah’s Emergency Call Center, a volunteer answered the phone. Volunteers quickly coordinated the transport and delivery of a hospital bed from Yad Sarah to Israel’s home. This rapid response relieved a moment of crisis and ensured Israel could safely remain at home and rest comfortably.
The next morning, Israel prayed for his recovery from his at-home hospital bed, surrounded by family. Yad Sarah is there for those in need during critical moments.
