Beit Yad Sarah in Ashdod is officially open!
The five-story building will offer a comprehensive range of services to address the increasing healthcare needs of Israel's southern region. The branch is staffed with 100 volunteers and will provide a wide range of compassionate services to those in Ashdod and surrounding communities.
This facility replaces the previous Yad Sarah branch in Ashdod and has expanded the branch's services in the area. The branch now offers a comprehensive rehabilitation center, advanced medical equipment lending, specialized emotional support programs and more.
To better support the region, which has been heavily impacted by the recent conflict between Israel and Iran, the Yad Sarah building in Ashdod prioritizes safety and the community's growing healthcare needs. It includes a protected underground section, which allows Yad Sarah to remain operational during emergencies such as war or natural disasters. The building's upper floors provide spacious hospitality suites for families of patients receiving treatment at the nearby Assuta Ashdod University Hospital.
"The opening of this new branch marks a significant milestone for Yad Sarah and for the people of southern Israel, coming at a time when the need for short- and long-term rehabilitation, outpatient, and emotional support is greater than ever," said Yad Sarah CEO Moshe Cohen. "We are deeply grateful to the generous donors whose contributions totaling approximately $20 million (NIS 70 million) made this possible."
Yad Sarah is committed to continuing to work toward expanding healthcare access across Israel.
