A 72-year-old woman was suffering from recurring toothaches and had visited the dentist multiple times. The prescribed antibiotic treatments failed to remedy the issue, so her daughter contacted Yad Sarah's Mobile Dental Clinic for help.

Yad Sarah's volunteer dental team responded quickly and visited the woman in her nursing home. The skilled volunteers performed an oral exam and discovered multiple infections and loose teeth.

However, the woman's complex medical history presented additional challenges. During the treatment, she experienced an allergic reaction to the antibiotics being used. Despite these medical complications, the team remained committed to helping the woman.

This story is just one of many examples of how Yad Sarah's Mobile Dental Clinic provides care to the homebound elderly population. As of February 2025, the Mobile Dental Clinic has provided 3,416 in-home professional dental treatments to patients across Israel. It operates three vans that serve Israel's North, South, and Central regions. Our volunteer dentists are trained to address the unique dental problems affecting older adults and approach each case with care and sensitivity.

Thanks to Yad Sarah, the volunteer dental team created a customized plan to ensure the 72-year-old woman received safe and effective care. She received ongoing treatment until her dental issues had been resolved. Now, without the added stress of dental pain, she is experiencing a greater quality of life.
