Breath of Life: Yad Sarah's Life-Saving Support

1 minute reading time (147 words)

One Shabbat, an elderly man knocked on Hagit Shlasky's door. Hagit, the manager of Yad Sarah's Shoham branch, opened the door without hesitation. After apologizing for the disturbance, the man shared that he urgently needed an oxygen tank for his 22-year-old nephew. Without any question, Hagit's husband went to open the branch and provide the necessary equipment.

A few days later, Shay's uncle left a potted plant at Hagit and her husband's doorstep as a token of his appreciation. He stayed in touch but never shared why his nephew needed oxygen. It wasn't until recently that Hagit learned that Shay needed continuous oxygen because he had an upcoming heart transplant. Shay, now 26 years old, has been living with a transplanted heart for four years and is deeply appreciative of Yad Sarah's support. For Yad Sarah, it was a small task. But for him, it meant the world.
